In a big city in Alaska, Shadow wandered in the streets, in the search of food. He hadnt eaten in days and was starving. He had been living in a nice, comfortable home months ago, but was now alone on the streets. His master had died a while ago and he had been abandoned. After all that time of living alone, the dogs usually shiny, clean fur had become and dirty, his happy eyes had become sad, his gentle spirit had become vicious, and evil. Even so, it was hard for him to find food in a huge city, where not many animals lived, and from where it was almost impossible to get out. Although the dog was stronger, he was still young, and he had never learned to fight. But day after day, week after week, month after month, the black labrador lived on, getting stronger, finding food, water and shelter from bad, cold weather, somehow. Somehow he had survived the dark streets of the city, the people who attacked him, and the horrible things called cars. Shadow didnt know what they where, or where they came from, but he knew well enough to keep away from them. He had seen other dogs getting hit by those horrible, big things that made so much noise, and it wasnt a pretty sight. The only thing he liked from this city was Garbage cans. They always had good, leftover food from the humans, and most of them where easy to tip over. If only the big humans would let him eat in peace They always came screaming at him and hitting him with those annoying brooms and sticks. The black dog hated humans. He had loved only one in his life, now that one was gone, and humans had become hateful creatures. How could he ever trust another human when the one he loved has let him down? He knew it wasnt his fault, but he still didnt like the idea of loving someone and being thrown out on the streets again if something happened. He had decided he was better off on his own, so he wouldnt get hurt and left out again, never... -Comments please!
