Er, this could be.. bad..

Okay peoples.
As you know we have a cat.

Well ya.
I know someone - and she wants us to watch her dog for like a week.
Cat + dog = no
But my sister already said she [ yet I'll be the one watching the dog but let's not get into that..] would watch the dog.

Whereee in the name of heck came we keep them seperated and away from each other?

AND OH YA
I'LL BE WATCHING SAMMY ALOT THIS SUMMER WOOO
You people are probably gonna get vids of him then. xD

I suggest you keep kitty inside, and doggy out. But if not, keep the cat in a different room unless you think the dog will eat it. Our cat had to get along with three different dogs. In fact, he was friends with one of them! =D

Well when we brought Zoey into our house for the first time, all my cat did was hide. She did that for a while until she got used to Zoey being around and whatnot, and then she was fine.

Maybe just give the cat time to get used to the dog? XD
Other than that..maybe keep the cat locked in the basement or something, and let the dog roam free around the house.

We're afraid to do that.
We dunno what she's allergic to, because she has a sore on her nose and it's almost done clearing up.
Anddd we don't want to take any chances of her getting it back because of a dog.

But thanks for suggestions peoples.

I have 3 cats and 2 dogs, and they are fine with eachother. Maybe not at first, but then they became friends.

Not necessarily. Hannah loves cats. Of course Shadow eats them, but Hannah doesn't. Not sure about Cooter or Sophie. Wanna test? smile

You can always keep the cat inside and the dog outside. Just make sure to lock the door. (Cooter can push them open. Not kidding.)

Can't do it all night though, and when we go somewhere.

Then you could keep the dog in a heavily reinforced room (jk!!1) and the cat in another. Or just train the dog which will only take about a day if you do it carefully. We trained Shadow to leave a cat alone by holding it in front of her and letting her smell it. She left that cat alone (Or was that the one she killed a few weeks later? jk!!1) but still got I think 1 other one.
