Here's the first chapter guys, I really hope you like it!! =) I'll post more later in the week, because this took me a WHILE. o_o
The moon let off a reflection against the water, it made much light for the wolves that were quietly moving along the waters edge. The water of the sea lapped at their feet as if to drag them into the water.A male wolf was in the front of the pack of five, his nose pressed to the ground, desperately trying to find a scent of anything they could devour. The wolf pack was hungry, food was scarce, and would only grow more so as the days and weeks grew on.With no food in days, and with little puppies soon to be born, they were weary and didnt want to continue on.Three of the wolves started to turn back, leaving the food source to the two strongest wolves. But the male wolf in front of the pack continued on, he didnt know what lied ahead, but anything was better than the ocean land that held no food.He beckoned for the others to follow his moves, but they could not continue to go any farther. So they stopped, and let him go ahead, hoping on him sole to bring down anything. He went ahead, his name was Streak, and he would find food for his pack. Streak ran, he ran for miles, until he came to a whale that had washed upon the shore. He stopped and howled to the moon, hoping for a response. One came, his pack was following him to the spot where he was, he howled a response back, he had found their source of food for many days to come.A long time passed before the other wolves got to the spot where Streak stood, but they had gotten there, and they feasted. The ate until they could not tear off anymore flesh to devour, so they stopped, and slept right there, guarding their food until morning came.
Morning, the sun rose over the jagged hills separating the ocean from the land. The wolves were ready to continue, this would be where theyd stay while the puppies were born.Windspot was ready to bare her pups any day, and the den needed to be built fast.Streak lead the pack over the hills, the forest stretched out in front of them.Windspot made her way around slowly, she barked in approval of her mates choice of the spot she would give birth and raise their pups. She wandered around alone, the rest of the pack waited patiently for her to choose the spot for her den.A howl let out across the forest, and the pack listened intently and followed her howl.Shed picked a spot in the hill where a small fox den had already been made, it was clearly abandoned, for no smell was even left tingling.Streak started digging against the dirt, and the other members of the pack helped him in his efforts.Windspot explored the grounds, it had a small open space, very suitable for raising the pups, the fox that was here before her had obviously picked a very good spot. By the time the sun had made its way to the stop of the sky the den was nearly ready, and that was good. For Windspot was beginning to feel very sluggish, and was ready to lie down. But the rain poured out of the sky in buckets, and the wolves were forced to stop digging, their claws were also sour from digging in the hard red clay, it wasnt ideal, but the den spot was.Which would mean it would be worth it in the end. The next day their was five squirming little pups in the den with their mother. Windspot had given birth to them during the night and they were contently sucking the milk from their mothers nipples.Their eyes were closed, obliviously to the world around them.
