RE: Wolf: The Bayside Pack [Chap 5 UP!!]

Chapter Fiiive.

Streak jumped over the bush that separated him and the deer.  The deer leaped over the ground soaring high above it.  The deer had big horns, and it itself had to be one of the biggest deer Streak had seen the ocean area, for the deer didnt do well here.  The grass was not as tasty as other grasses were, so the big deer were mostly on the other side of the big river.  The big river was so furious and quick that most animals that tried to cross it were swept away.  There was a bridge, but humans used that bridge, and humans were not what you wanted to see.  They killed wolves, and they killed the other animals that the wolves used for food.  Humans were not good.

This deer was fast, for as big as it was Streak had the mind that hed thought it would have been a slower deer, but that proved untrue.  This deer moved with great across the grounds, but Streak knew it even better, and was steering the deer right into the area where Caleb was waiting for the crash and breaking sounds of twigs as they were snapped in two as the two animals in chase crushed them into the ground.  Caleb heard it, and soared into action.  He had a small lead on the deer, and dashed right into its path.  The deer, confused, slowed down for just a tiny bit, but that tiny bit cost it its life.  Streak grabbed the opportunity and jumped onto the deer, sinking his teeth deep into its neck.  Caleb quickly jumped on the deers back bringing it down to the ground.  The two wolves tore open the deer and feasted.  Streak ate his filling and left Caleb to guard over their catch as he went to get the pups and bring them to where the deer was.  This would be the pups new home, for the creek was close to this site, there was a large meadow they could play in when they wanted to, and it was a much larger clearing, all of these were perfect for the site.  Streak let out a long howl, signaling to Riptide and the pups that he was near, and ready for them to move on.  Whether this howl reached them through the rain, he did not know.  The ground was turning into soft mud, it stuck to Streaks paws as he went through it.  The timing was not ideal to move the pack, but the new spot was perfect, so they would wait no longer.  As Streak walked into the camp, four little pups scrambled up onto his, knocking him down.  Riptide just sat in the rain, quietly watching the pups re-unite with their father.  They acted as if he had been gone for months, when he had not even been gone a whole day.  Streak got up and walked over to Riptide, she still sat there, motionless, but turned her head to greet Streak.  Riptide often sat motionless, still in mourning of her mate who had passed away years ago, but she would not let herself forget him, so numerous times a day shed sit still and think of him, and their pups.  Only one was left, and that was Caleb.  The rest had gone off to other packs and places, and she hadnt seen any of the others in a very long time.  But she was very content with her pack, she had all the company she needed.
