RE: My Photography Thread [12/26!! :D] New camera, and lotsaaa pictures!

I really like this one. The colors really appeal to me, and even though you can't see the entire butterfly, it kinda goes with the feel of the picture, because it looks almost as if you're peering at the butterfly from afar. I dunno, maybe I'm just retarded. lol That's jsut me. And I like a lot of the fort ones too. Oh, and this one. :D And I love the soft focus of the kitty ones. :)

~PL~ also has a D40, as does DL6578 (who rarely comes here anymore but is a very good photographer) and a certain someone (i wont say who cuz Lock will just interrogate her >:( she'll probably reply to this post) says if she gets a SLR she'll get the D40. So, in fact, the Nikon lovers of this forum outnumber the Canon ones, not to mention that, to my observations, you only got the XSI because you saw a REALLY good deal for it! >:( Can't say I wouldn't have either if I was offered that many lenses. I like the Nikon brand more than Canon but they're similar in ALOT of ways, so I probably would've taken that offer too just because it's a big investment with the lenses and everything. But I have no complaints about Nikon at all.

SO YEAH >:(
i feel like Phoenix Wright right now, suckers! >:(

I would have never had an offer like that though because we don't trust eBay. We only shop at Newegg, and sometimes Amazon if necessary (newegg is way better). So I would have never ended up in Canon's hands anyways. >:(

That's why I said that I FINALLY had Canon backup, silly. Even a retard knows that there's more Nikon people here than Canon >:(

But we can all agree that the D40x/D60 are a relative waste of money compared to the D40. (A D80 would be even better.)

Thaank you! :D

More pictures? LEGASP!!

Some from my random walk to the park, and water pictures.
I was stupid, and when I went to the park, I only had my 70-300mm lens, so I coudln't get alot of the pictures I wanted.
I got aloooot of weird looks from people, yay! XD
Okay, onto the pictures;

I had to convert that to black and white because the fringing on it was oretty bad. I think its cuz I had the ISO kinda high, at 800. I was in shade at sunset, so yeah.

Taken handheld. Noo tripod. Stupid sunflare.

No tripod either. I think the shutter was around 1/4, not positive though.

And earlier I decided to take water pics, woo.

Photobucket killed it ):

And then I decided to drop Spongebob in the water! :D xDD Yes, I know, he has no legs...xD He was once part of an old alarm clock, and he broke off...and his legs didn't come with him..xDD
That shot was my favorite out of all of them.

If only it had better focus ):

It looks like he's swimming..xD I like how you can see his reflection.

I forgot to crop that. oops.

That be all.

My Photography Thread [12/27!] More pictures? Holy bleep!!

Kewl, your handholding skillz are nice. I have relatively bad low-shutter-speed hands.

Don't be afraid to use high ISOs, I use 1600 on my XT all the time and its 1600 is worse than the XSi's. Remember, getting the shot with some grain>not getting the shot at all. With DSLRs 1600 isn't much of a problem, and noise can be removed without too big of a penalty during post-processing.

THIS IS ISO 1600 MANG

Ya, I know.

I'm still getting used to having to keep an ISO down low all the time. Its neat to not have to do that.

I'm starting to think my desktop monitor shows the noise, not the pictures.
I'm looking at pictures that I thought were killed with noise on my laptop, and they have barely any noise at all!
Almost none!
But on my desktop, they have a pound of noise and grain.
Weirdness.

Ahaha, dude, the spongebobs ones rock. xD I really don't see that much noise in the squirell, but I know if I went over ISO 800, my pictures would be done for. Sony's noise control is the pits.

Yeah, the spongebob ones were fuun to take. xD

Yeah, you couldn't see much noise, but the fringing on it was just horrible.A couple whole tree branches were purple xD
But changing it to black and white helped a lot.
