Chapter 1: How It Started We go through times when we can't believe, even though everyone wants to believe in something. We lose hope and faith, and when we look for them, we only find tears. We can get through these times, though, all of us can. How do I know that, you say? Well, I'm about to tell you a story that teaches us all the true meaning of faith.
It all started at the corner of Blue and Lonely. A small bundle whimpered and cried. Well, you'll never guess what that bundle was. A puppy of about a month or two, with soft, fluffy fur that was white and a light caramel brown, and small ears that flopped down to a bit above his eyes. You could barely see his eyes, though, because he had them closed on that dark, windy night, and hislong fur made them even harder to see. The pup continued whimpering and shivering as the wind blew harder and harder. The poor youngster was all alone, with noone to help him. He opened his blue eyes a little and saw a young boy, about 9 years old, come out of a shop across the street. "Mama, look! It's a puppy! It's a puppy! Can we keep it?" The boy shouted to his mom, who was next to the boy. Before his mom replied, though, a car pulled up near the pup and a man stepped out. He had gloves on, and he picked up the puppy and put it in a cage in the back of his truck. Then he left in his car, and that's the beginning of the story about hope.
Chapter 2: The Shelter This pup needed hope, indeed. He cried, because he was being taken away, he didn't think he'd ever see his mom again, and because he was very, very confused. After all, he was still very new to the world, it had only been a few weeks since his eyes opened, and he got good hearing. The car went on and on, until it finally arrived at the Hope Found Shelter. The man got out of his car and got the puppy ut from the back. He took it to a medium cage inside of a parked trailer. The shelter had lots of them, and outside the trailers were more cages with animals inside them. In this one, there were many dogs huddled in their blankets to escape the cold wind, since the doors of the trailer was open. The pup continued whimpering. He was so loud that you could hear him over the strong, whirling wind. Finally, the pup curled up under his fluffy white blanket and drifted to sleep.
The young dog awoke to the scent of fresh poultry and fish. He began chowing down on the bowl of wet dog food in front of him. It's taste matched the smell perfectly, but it made him thirsty. He found a bowl of water beside him, and drank until he reached the bottom. It was refreshing and made his aching lungs feel great. His lungs and his heart were different, though, and he still felt sad and lonely.
"Hey, you!" someone said. "What's your name?"
The pup turned around. A hound a bit bigger than him that was in the cage beside him was talking. The pup wasn't sure if he could talk, and if he could, he didn't have very good grammar, because he had never spoken a word.
"Umm.... I can't keep one," the puppy tried. "You mean you don't have one?" the hound said. "Yes, I've never talked, I'm just a puppety." "You mean a puppy?" "Yeah, a puppety." The hound chuckled.
Chapter 3: The Blackout The puppy became confused about why the dog laughed, and began thinking very hard. "So, you don't have a name, eh?" the hound said. "Nnnuh," the puppy tried to say. "Well, my name's Everest. What breed are you? You're very fluffy," the hound named Everest asked. "Don't know," the pup replied. "Well, then, I'll just call you Puppy. How's that?" The pup nodded in approval. "Puppy it is, then!" The puppy smiled and nodded again. His tail flicked rapidly, and suddenly, the door to his cage opened up. The pup stumbled out backwards and landed on his back. He was the second cage up, so he was quite high, and not many knew what happened the moments after he fell, not even myself.

Chapter 4: When Losses Happen When the puppy awoke, it couldn't be described. He didn't feel any pain like you'd expect from the hard fall on her fragile back. He saw some dogs that looked familiar and had a resemblance to her. "Hello, my dear. It's Mommy," a dog that looked like a bigger version of her said. "M-mom?" The puppy said unsurely. Suddenly, the pup remembered Everest. He wanted to finish talking with him, but Puppy wasn't at the shelter. Suddenly, though, he found his surroundings fading away, and he was at the shelter. "Everest?" Puppy said looking for his friend. He was on the ground, and there were many other people from the shelter there. Puppy walked up to them. They seemed to be surrounding something. He squeezed through to see. It was a fluffy, white and caramel puppy, exactly like himself. Puppy looked up. A cage was open, and beside it was a frightened looking Everest in his own cage. "Everest!" Puppy shouted happily. Everest suddenly looked around, lifting his ears. "What's wrong?" the dog in the cage next to him said. "I thought I heard the slightest sound of his voice. But he's gone, and I'll never see him again," Everest said, starting to cry. "It's funny how you can become attached to a person in a small conversation." Puppy realized that the little pup on the ground was himself. People gathered around him said, "He's gone, his back was too weak from his young age, and it just broke on him." Puppy didn't know what to do. He left his family when he thought about Everest, so inside he knew he had to help him. Everest need hope, and Puppy wanted to help him.
