Scarlet woke up from her nap and stretched. It was really early in the morning and she was hungry. She went over to her owner and jumped on the little blanket they use as a bed. She licked her owners face until she woke up. "Oh Scarlet! Your always so energetic!" Wendy said as she got up and got out the little food they had. They live in a small hut that was abandoned and they didn't have much there. only a box of crackers and a half empty tuna can left on the ground was the food they ate. For a drink they went over to a small creek almost all dried up and took some water. Scarlet had never tasted dog food before because the only food they had was for humans and it was not very healthy for animals. "Here you go." Wendy said as she gave her a handfull of crackers. She ate some too.
After the small breakfast they went outside to search for water. They both were very thirsty. Scarlet suddenly smelled something tasty. She could clearly smell the scent of fresh rabbit. She nudged wendy gently and gave her the look saying "Be quiet, i got a scent" and wendy seemed to get the message. They both crept as quietly as they could, trying not to scare the prey. Then Scarlet could see it, the big rabbit that might be their next meal. Scarlet led wendy to a bush they could hide behind and they waited as the rabbit got closer. Scarlet could see that the prey was now in her reach, she got in position to jump. As quick as murder, scarlet leaped right out of the bush and got ready to sink her teath into a tasty meal. But instead she caught a big clob of nothing. The rabbit had vanished and Scarlet had totally missed it. Scarlet and Wendy were dissapointed to not have any meal or drink to carry back to the little hut.
Chapter 2
After the heartbreaking miss, Wendy and Scarlet went back to the hut and tried to cheer up. They both knew it was just bad luck and soon the dissapointment would be over. Scarlet looked around the hut, hoping there were mice that she could catch to make Wendy feel better. But there was not another living soul but the two of them. Scarlet scratched the door as if asking Wendy to go outside and hunt some more. Wendy again got the message. "Okay Scarlet, you can go out." Wendy said. Scarlet wagged her tail happily and pushed on the little broken door. It flung open and Scarlet ran outside in delight. She was in the mood for a hunt and was happy to get outside.
Scarlet roamed the woods not going too far from thier hut. She knew Wendy would be worried if she got lost. Scarlet put her nose on the ground and sniffed desprately for a scent. Supprised she caught one very fast and once she did she knew to be quiet. So she crept through the big rotting trees and hid behind one. She looked around the corner to see her prey. As soon as she did she wagged her tail very fast but silently so she wouldn't scare her prey. It was a big huge deer and it would last them about a week. This time Scarlet did not want to miss, because she knew Wendy would be so happy for this big meal! She wanted so much to make Wendy happy and she knew this deer would. So again she went into position. She waited for the prey to get close and soon it did. so again she shot out and sunk her teath into the best meal ever!
Chapter 3
Scarlet yipped as loud as she could to make Wendy come outside. But there was no reaction. No one came out the door of the hut, no one came to see her big meal. Scarlet waited and waited for a happy Wendy to come out of the hut. But no one came. It had been at least thirty minutes and still no one came out to see her catch. She thought that Wendy was just busy, thats all. Just busy wendy probly doing some work in the house. So she kept waiting.
Soon it had been hours and still no reaction. No one to see her catch. Not even one mouse scurried around the forest. No one came out of the hut yet. Scarlet was getting worried. So she went over into the hut slowly dragging the meat behind her so no other wolves or coyotes came and took it. She slowly made her way up to the hut and went inside. But there was no wendy there cleaning up or doing work. She suddenly looked down at the floor and almost crashed down there too. Wendy was on the floor not breathing or even making a sudden movement.
It took her a while to find out but Scarlet was all alone.
That's all i got so far! It almost made me cry lol My own story almost made me cry It's really sad!

Scarlet looked out at the big woods and a soft whimper escaped from her mouth. She looked back at Wendy and knew there was nothing that she could do about her death. It seems her time has come and Scarlet understood that very well. She knew she had to be strong and set off on her own. She that she did, leaving behind her beloved owner and off into the big woods dragging her meat behind. Scarlet did not dare take one look back and make her saddness worse. She kept on walking the the brave dog she knew she has to be.
Scarlet was getting tired of dragging behind the big old deer. She knew she would have to stop and find shelter before the coyotes came by and attacked her. Also, the sky was getting cloudy and it looked as if a storm was on it's way. So Scarlet found a nice den that was already the perfect size and there was no scent of animal in it, so it must have been abandoned. She went inside of the old thing and just as she did she noticed she had just in time because it started to rain. Scarlet was getting sleepy and she couldn't help herself but she fell fast asleep.
Chapter 5
Scarlet woke up from the long sleep. She noticed the the rain had stopped and the sun was shining brightly. She expected to see her owner asleep on the blanket and some food in the cupboard, but all she could she was the wet mud and the deep den. Scarlet got up and took some meat off of the deer she had caught the other day. She ate cheerfully but when she was almost finished she remembered the dreadful thought of Wendy on the hut floor and lost her appetite. She couldn't get the thoughts of Wendy out of her head. But Scarlet knew she had to move on and enjoy life as it is. She got her meat and started to take another long walk to a happier, warmer and better place.
She was still walking when she found the creek almost all dried up but still holding a few mouthfulls of water. She put down her deer and began to lap up some water. She was very thirsty and hadn't drank for two days. Soon she had had enough water and continued the long journey.
Chapter 6
She had almost died of exhaustion when she suddenly found herself walking the streets of the town. Scarlet was delighted to see such a wonderfull place! She started prancing around the sidewalk but stopped when she smelt something deliousious. She followed the scent and ended up looking at a dog store! She looked at the sign, then went straight in.
She still followed the scent and same to a hault in front of a very tall women. She wore a green sweater with the zipper half way up, a pair of blue denim jeans and her hair was short and wavey at the tips. She looked friendly so Scarlet kept onj going. She took a big huge bite on something that looked like a cookie. It tasted very good. Suddenly another dog somewhat like Scarlet sniffed her and she jumped about a foot off the ground. She felt silly when she noiced it was just a puppy about her age. "Who are you?" the puppy asked her. "I'm Scarlet." Scarlet said proudly. "My name is Cyrstal." Crystal said. "Don't you ever brush your hair?" Crystal asked. "What's that?" Scarlet said. "What does brush mean?" Crystal looked at her as if she was an ailien. "A brush is what keeps your fur clean like mine." Crystal said showing her sparkley clean fur to Scarlet. "Doesn't your owner brush you?" Scarlets stomach flipped over when she heard the word owner and she knew the next question would be: "Where is your owner?" and soon enough it was. "So where is she Scarlet?" Crystal said. "I want to meet her." "Uhhh..." Scarlet said. "She's gone..." "Where? Did she just leave you all alone here?"Crystal asked. Scarlet felt overwhelmed by questions and awsers. She wanted to get out of this "Dog Store". Scarlet knew the only way to do that. So she ran as fast as she could to pick up a blanket and run. She grabbed a much of her deer as she could and kept on going.
It's really sad!
