Nintendogs Reveiw (And Hints!)~Continuous or Repetative?~

Okay, I decided to ALSO make one. (xD) SO, here I go! (I added some tips, too)

http://www.myds.com.au/img/game/Nintendogs--Lab---Friends-1.jpghttp://dsmedia.ign.com/ds/image/object/736/736312/ntr_nintendogs_pkg_02boxart_160w.jpghttp://www.gamenet.com.hk/upload/data/item_24540346_large.jpgThe image http://www.itsagamething.co.uk/ProdImages/DALMATION.JPEG cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.http://media.gamestats.com/gg/image/object/766/766941/nintendogs_bestfriends_DSBOXboxart_160h.jpg

There are many different versions of Nintendogs, each having different breeds to start out with:

Labrador & Friends:
Labrador Retrievers, Pembroke Welsh Corgis, Toy Poodle, Minature Pinschure, Miniature Schnauzer, Shiba Inu
Chihuahua & Friends: Chihuahua, German Shepherd, Boxer, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Yorkshire Terrier, Shetland Sheepdog
Dauchshund & Friends: Dauchshund, Beagle, Siberian Husky, Pug, Shih Tzu, Golden Retri
ever
Dalmatian & Friends: Dalmatian, Golden Retr
iever, Yorkshire Terrier, Beagle, Boxer, German Shepherd
Best Friends: Dauchshund, Beagle, Golden Retriever, Labrador Retriever, Yorkshire Terrier, German Shepherd (Don't beleive lies about it having all breeds)

System:
DS
AR?
Yes, but it will erease your data whenever you turn it on with AR. (Or it will say it can't load-- turn it off if you don't want to lose your dogs)
Unlockables:
1. Dalmatian Hat (Accessories)= Dalmatians (If you have Dalmatian and Friends you will already have the hat and dog)
2. JRT Book (Ect)= Jack Russell Terriers
3. (In Japan) Japanese Print Collar= Shiba Inu

Beiginning:
At first, when it turns on it will show the Nintendo sign and then you'll be going closer and closer to a door. It says "Please Knock". Once you tap it a few times with the stylus, it will open. The Kennel welcomes you and you can play with Lucky, Maxwell, and Daisy or buya new dog. If you click on buy a new dog, you will come to a selection of 6-8 different breeds, depending on which version you bought. Each breed of dog comes in 3 different colors, although sometimes it's very hard to tell. There are many, many personalities I can't name them all. Some are tomboys or naughty, or maybe hard to handle. Some are laid back, tired, or lazy. Other and fearless, stong, or brave. But the kind I like are smart, trustworthy, and patient dogs. If the three personalities, colors, or genders, you dislike, simply click back and click it again; and you'll have new dogs to choose from! Remember, dumb dogs are hard to teach and might take you 100 times to teach him/her his/her name and get them to come.

Teaching:
First, you must teach the dog their name. When they learn, you type it down. You then call it and teach it sit. There are many tricks to teach your dog, and your dog can remember up to 14. When your dog is in the position you want to teach the trick in, press the lightbuld and say what you want to call it. You can call it whatever you want.

Sit: Stroke your dog's head from top to bottom when it's stnading.
Stand: Pet the dog's throat to make it tilt its head up. Once the head is
facing up, stroke his throat from bottom to top. Alternatively, you can
touch its belly and slide the stylus up to its neck.
Lie down: While your dog is sitting, stroke its head from top to bottom.
Playing Dead: While lying or sitting on the floor, move the stylus on its body in a horizontal motion (left to right, or right to left.)
Roll Over: Have the dog lie on its side and move the stylus on its body from it's belly to back.
Jump: Repeatedly tap the stylus above the dog's head. The dog may be more inclined to jump if it's consistently wagging its tail.
Shake: This could be done either standing or sitting. Grab your dog's paw and move it up.
Spin: Grab your dog's tail and hold it in front of its face. It will run in a circle, chasing its tail.

Cool Tricks: (usually only done with loyal dog you've had for a long time)

Handstand: To make your dog to stand on its two front paws, command it to lay down and tell it to beg.
Black Flip: Get your dog to roll over or sit, and then tell your dog to jump. It will perform a summersault in the air.
Dance: Command your dog to beg. Once it's on its hind legs, tell it to spin.
Stand on hing legs: Tell your dog to beg Now grab one of its paws and slowly raise it above its head.
Your dog will stand on it back paws (Dance 2).
Break Dance: Have it lay and then tell it to spin.
Hop: Before attempting the hop, your dog must know the
commands of stand and dance. Have your dog do a little jiggy dance.
Once your dog is dancing, tell it to jump and it'll start hopping.

Walks:
When you walk, (which you can do about every 30 mins.) you will have a limit of room to walk. When you start, you cannot go very far. As you take more walks, you get more space and eventually you can walk and get everything and go everywhere. There are many thing to do:

1. Presents and Dogs: (?'s)
There will be blue squares on your walk with ?'s on them. If you draw your route through one, you will get a present or meet a dog. When you get the first few presents, they will probably be junk. The longer you've had your dogs, the rarer the items. You can also meet dogs. You can usually tell whether you will meet a dog or get a present by your dog. When it's a present, your dog will bark once and walk calmly. When it is a dog, your dog will likely bark twice and have it's ears back or be wagging it's tail a lot. When you meet a dog, the owner might give you advice, critisize you/your dog, or tell you something random. After that, your dog and their dog can interact. Depending on behavior, music, and dogs; your dog still might be curious, like the other dog, or dislike the other dog. And that's what the blue ? box's are.

2. Blue Dots:
In walks, you'll see big and small blue dots. These dots are possible places for your dog to go "potty". I don't usually use them, but you may if you want.

3. Shops:
You may think: "Going to a shop is soooo boring! All it does is give you better prices!" But, no. Sometimes, when you go to a shop, you'll find extra items: Jump Ropes, Pianos, Pull Ropes, and more. When you get a certain amount of points, there are more: Talking Parrot, Wind Up Toy, and more. Everything is cheaper. Some days, one shop is cheaper then the other, others; it's switched.

4. Parks:
When you go to a park, there will either be one, two, or no dogs there. When there is none, it is good to practice disc. You cannot teach your dog tricks. It's pretty much like home, but bigger. When there is one or two other dogs or there it's not smart to practice disc, for the other dog(s) may catch it instead. You can socialize with other dogs and pet the other dogs, while playing with them too.

5. Agility Course:
At the Agility Course, you begin with jumping and going through pipes, and you aren't very good! But the more you do it, the faster-- and better- you do it! You cannot enter the Agility Contest until you've practiced. Here are the levels:

1. Jumps and Tunnels (then go into contest after every level)
2. Jumps, Double Jumps, Tunnels, and See-Saws
3. Jumps, Double Jumps, Tunnels, See-Saws, and Poles

6. Hidden Presents and Trash:
You (clearly) cannot see these on the map. To tell if you're almost gonna get one, look on the top screen at the dog. If you're dog is moving, and the dog on top isn't you're near a present...But hold up! Don't tug back yet! It may also be trash, and eating that will make your dog sick! Hidden presents are amost always rare. So, remember to get them! And don't try to find them on the bottom screen, or you could miss it!

Contests:
So, as we know, contests are only for after you practice. You can do three a day, and this is VERY important= SAVE before going in a contest, so if you lose, you can turn it off and try again. Every contest is timed, so be quick! So, here we go!

1. Disc Competition:
For some dogs, this is the easiest; but my so smart dogs are just horrible at it! You must do at least about 10-20 throws in practice to do well. You aren't against much competition, until it goes higher. The maximum money is I beleive $500 in Champion. Make sure your dog is athletic. If it doesn't catch it in mid-air, it's an out. Make sure your dog can get in the blue or else throw lightly! Green=0 Sea Green=1-2 Tan: 3-4 Orange: 5-6 Red=7-8 Blue=9-10

2. Agility Contest:
Before you can start, you must train your dog to do the level it is currently at-- or else it will miss almost every one! I like to train my dog every time before I put it in a Agility Contest. Even though he/she knew how to, you still need to do it...IDK why. You will go over the course, and missing them gives you 5.00 points. Points are bad, though. The most money you can get is $1,000.

3. Obedience Competition:
For some dogs, obedience is the hardest contest, for some, it's in the middle. The contest name is almost self-explainatory. After you have taught your dog tricks and he/she knows them perfectly, it's time to go to obedience trails! Your told to do a trick and sometimes hold it. When the trick(s) is/are finished, they will rate you. Then, you have free preformance, showing off dance moves or such. If you got the highest score, you win. The most money you can get is $2,000.

I know there's a lot more, but I'm just gonna skip to pros and cons:

Pros:
Nintendogs is a great game for people who do not yet have dogs, and is all age friendly. It is very enjoyable, playing piano, recording your voice, teaching tricks, taking walks, and finding new things. I like this game very much, since there's almost always new items. I have never got the JRT book, but I have got Dalmatian Hat. I think it's cool to find or buy new items, and to buy and sell dogs; so you don't have to always have to restart and lose items! It's very enjoyable and fun, one of the best Nintendo has made.

Cons:
This game isn't as repetative as many people think, but it is very. You can still always buy and sell things, and look for certain items. But, after you've got almost everything and don't want to waste your time saving for a outerspace or seaside room, it can be very repetative. I've restarted many times bc I want to do more, but I regret it now! Also, you cannot let your dogs grow up or have kids, which I very dislike.

My Opinion:
I think NDogs is awesome, and people who don't have dogs enjoy this very much. It is very realistsic and fun. It's awesome meeting people in Bark Mode and I think Nintendo has really been smart and creative to think of all these things-- being able to pet your dog with your finger, and call it by name. It rocks!

My Rating:
9.20
