I'm making a new story with a new animal-- A Horse! I'm hopeful about this decision, and that it won't be...Weird. (x]) Chestnut is...Well, a Chestnut horse. Beginning from less than a day old, it may be a long story. He's a very beautiful horse, and smart, but no spoilers! Here it is:
Prolouge: Over a hill, the sun arose. Beautiful and bright, it awoke the little foal hours old. He was a beautiful foal and was a Chestnut. His mother was also a Chestnut, and his father was a Arabian; making him beautiful, strong, and wonderful shape. The owner of the land which they roamed, whose name was Marilyn, would take in the kind horses, leaving the wild ones. He just learned to walk hours before, but didn't get up. He nuzzled his mother, to wake her up. She lifted her head off the groud, being exaughsted from giving birth and slowly rose up. The young foal wobbled to his weak legs and suckled from his mother. When he was done, he tried to walk and looked at his mother. His mother looked at him back, smiling. Her name was Jasmine. "Hello, little foal. What should I call you?" She asked. Of course, the young foal could not speak yet, but probably could in about five days or so. The father came to her and the foal, and his name was Michio, meaning streangth of three thousand. He smiled at his new foal with pride. "I like the name Little Caballo" Meaning horse in spanish. "I like that...But what about when he grows? He will not be little any longer." Jasmine replied. "Of course. Let's just call him Caballo." They both agreed to the name. Caballo came up to his father and grinned a silly, childish grin. Michio neighed and kicked up his feet and when he landed, returned the smile. Caballo neighed too, and slightly kicked his feet and stumbled, and Jasmine helped him back up, smiling at him at least trying. Caballo walked up the hill, seeing another mother with her foal. The mother's name was Kali, and her daughter's name was Christal. Christal was two days old. Caballo tried to run down the hill to see them, already courageous; but he tripped somewhat much. Jasmine followed him, making sure he was okay. "Bad Caballo! Don't do that!" She punished him and brought him back up th hill.
Three days passed, and Caballo could talk. Christal could too. They both didn't know many words, but could call for help or ask for milk. Caballo was very bored. His mom, Jasmine, walked towards Christal and her mom Kali for fresh grass. "Look, it's Caballo!" Said Kali to Christal. Christal looked up with confusion. "Who Caballo?" She asked. "Caballo is the horse born three days ago." Christal didn't quite understand all the words she said, but got the point. Caballo and Christal played together for many days. Two months later, they could talk a full vocabulary and were already pretty smart. At three months they would be weaned. One day while playing, a few other mothers, foals, and Michio were coming down the hill. Caballo and Christal were very exited to see new foals. They were each about five months old, already weaned. Their names were Danny, Misty, A.J., and Sulu. The foals were very happy together and played every day. As the weeks would pass and eventually Marilyn would round up the foals, Caballo's life looked good. As night fell as Caballo was three months old, his future was unknown, but looked happy and well...As Caballo was five months old, it was time for Marilyn to round up the foals. Danny, the small male saw her coming up the hill. He neighed, and soon a couple other foals came up to him to see the strange, moving, big box. Marilyn jumped out of the trailer with her helpers. "Who are they?" Asked Sulu, the average male. "Those are the humans who will have to round you up. They will only take the nicest foals who are willing." Replied Michio. Misty started to cry. (In the horse way). "I don't want to leave mommy!" She said. "I'm not gonna let them bring me! I'll be mean and tough, and they won't want me!" Said A.J., the big male. The mothers nuzzled their foals and Michio, the father, showed them respect and good luck.
As the helpers got them in a penned in area, Marilyn came to them, checking the pretty and nice. She chose Christal, Sulu, Caballo, and Danny. A.J. and Misty were not willing. She brought in the foals, and drove all the way back to her horse ranch called 'Hoof Stables'. She decided names- Christal was now Gayson, Sulu was named Sunny, Caballo now Chestnut, and Danny now Vorse. She put them in their new stables, gave them milk, and gave them food and water. As Chestnut went to sleep, he was seperated from his mom, and was to be weaned and trained. He was sad, but he was up for an adventure.
Chapter 1: Training Chestnut woke up bright and early. It was night when he had come home, and didn't really remember what was around him, and was confused waking up in a different place but his own, grassy land. He looked around and paced. He wasn't to be placed in the big stable yet with the other horses, because he was not trained or old enough. At two years old, he would be put with the other horses, which seemed like forever, but was his breeding age. To begin with, the helper who handled Chestnut, and whose name was Gordan, was nice; and patient. He took Chestnut out. "C'mon, Chestnut! It's your first day! We'll have fun!" Chestnut wasn't listening; rather he was thinking: 'What is he doing? Why am I here? And when will I go back?' questions were rushing through his mind. "First," said Gordan "We must socialize you. We cannot train a horse who dislikes humans, or horses and such! We will take you out every day for a month to train you to like other people and horses. After that, until a year old, you will be trained three times a month, about once a week." Gordan liked to talk to himself, but really the horses knew what he was saying. The other helpers who were asigned to the other foals were quiet, and listened to Gordan talking about nothing for no reason...Gordan was always picked on and was always the odd one out, or picked last. Chestnut liked him though...He was nice, and didn't scare him. "You know, I can tell I will like you, Chestnut. You seem well-tempured." Grodan said. "Haha! Just like all of you're other horse friends! They're all "special" aren't they?" Said one of the helpers who only cared for horses to show them off. The other helpers gave her a mean stare. Poor Sunny was taken by her. "Infact, I don't even like my horse! He's small and ugly!" Sunny heard the bully, named Wendy. Inside, he felt like crying...He wasn't ugly, but his body wasn't shaped muscular and big. His nose looked a little funny too. Vorse heard Wendy, too. He neighed and kicked and snorted at Wendy. Wendy just laughed at Vorse saying "You stupid horse! We can never train you! We might as well take you back!" Grayson's helper came over and hit Wendy on the arm "Shush! All of these horses are beautiful, and with work, strong and smart!" Wendy just gave her a 'you're stupid' stare.
