*Sigh* Okay, I didn't post it earlier, but today, I woke up to the sound "SUMMER'S ALMOST IN THE ROAD! AHH!"...As you could guess, she was. She was sniffing our tree near (like a foot or less away) our road. Summer was walking in the road and...IDK if she did, but I beleive she went accross................
I feel like crying. Don't worry- I know you're probably scared, but she's alive. I ran out super fast of my room, ran out the door and tried to get Summer to come. Cars were passing by, and my mom was yelling "I tried calling her, getting toys...Ah! SUMMER!" Summer scared me to death, and I felt like screaming, crying, punishing Summer, hold her close.............A lot of mixed feelings, and one of the worst. I got on my knees and clled her, and she came with hesitation...I didn't know why she even went past the gravel...I taught her not to, by jerking her everytime she went past it, and sometimes made her go past it and harshly pulling her back, making her scared of going past- which is good. I trained her today not to go near cars, but somehow I can't teach her they're bad-- we go in them, she goes in them...How could she find them scary? I found out my dad was walking her past it, and sometimes my brother would. I felt like telling them "YOU WANT HER TO DIE DON'T YOU?!"...But I didn't. My mom, I did too...She lets her out without a leash...So she ran out today that far.
I told them not to EVER do it again, but I don't know if they listened...We will eventualy put in a wire fence, but what should I do in the mean time if she slips out?
It, and a few other times she's done it, was the worst feeling in my life...Like IWN would feel if she lost Jake or if NGal lost Bo.

Well I don't know what you could do before you put up a fence. I have a better idea other than a wire fence, you could get an invisible fence put in! Feel better!!! ^__^
Mac gets out a LOT, but I've taught him to stay away from roads and to stop if there's a car coming. He (and Bo) know that beside the road is right.
Anyways, I'd suggest getting a chain, you can get a small one so it's not heavy for her to drag around, but make it short enough so she doesn't get to the road. :P

....why didn't i think of that ..XD Yeah, Zoey has one of those, works great. Except we have to watch her when we come home to make sure she doesn't sneak out the front door, she's done that a few times. :) XD
Dogs usually pick someone in the family that they respect the most; like for Gretchen, it's my Dad. So she thinks of him as more of the disciplinarian, and he would be the one to scold her if she left the yard because she thinks of him as the 'alpha dog,' so to speak. Now she doesn't ever leave the yard, unless our the mailman or our one neighbor walks by, because she seems to think of them as her playmates because they'll usually throw the ball for her or give her a treat or something. :P
