Chapter 2
Boomer was gone, and so was everything I owned. I ached all over my body, esspecially my leg, where the weather radio slammed into it when it was flying out the door. I couldn't move it, and it felt like an elephant had sat on it or something. It was complete silence outside, and the tornadoe had past. I could see it raging off, eastward through the small window I had looked through earlier. I walked around the storm cellar a bit more, then I took a few steps outside. The home I once had known all to well, was gone. Wood was scattered everywhere, and so was all the stuff I brought to the storm cellar. But Boomer was no where. All the houses next to me were destroyed too. I was crying, and yelling for Boomer at the same time.Where could have he gone?! I walked around my home a bit more, then started walking down the street, looking for Boomer. My leg hurt so bad, just a long sharp pain. I couldn't stand on it, so I limped. Then, I heard an ambulance, off in the distance. "Should I save myself...Or Boomer..." I thought to myself. "Boomer, Boomer it is, I HAVE to save Boomer" I told myself.
So I walked down the street, limping, calling for Boomer. Then, about 4 blocks away from my house I heard a wimper, a LOUD wimper, and it sounded JUST like Boomer! I turned torward the noise, and started the search. The wimper kept getting louder, and Louder, and LOUDER. Until it seemed as though Boomer was wimpering in my ear. So I started digging underneither the rumble...until I saw the furry paw...of BOOMER! I was to happy to stop digging! Then, once Boomer was completely uncovered I just hugged him. I was so happy to see Boomer. Boomer's front paw was cut and bleeding, so I picked him up, and started yelling "HEEELP" at the top of my lungs. And, soon enough, I heard the long desired siren coming our way. Then I saw the lights of the ambulance, red and blue. I set Boomer gently down, and started waving my arms franticly. The Ambulance stopped next to me and some parimedics stepped out and rushed torwards me. I told them what happened and they looked at my leg. They said it was definetley broken. I asked them one thing, "May I call my parents?". They asked me if I had a phone, and I answered truthfully with a "No." One parimedic handed me a cell phone, and told me I could use his. I thanked him and called my parents. My mother answered the phone with a bit of worry in her tone. "Mooom!" we talked for about 5 minutes, then I asked her if she wanted to speak with the parimedic, and she told me that she did, she did want to talk to the parimedic. I handed the phone to the parimedic and they talked for about 2 minutes, mainly about my leg, then hang up. "Your parents are coming as fast as they can, but until then, we need to take you to the hospital, and get your leg looked at more." I agreed, and I was loaded up into the ambulance. "Hey! Wait, before we leave, I HAVE to have my dog, Boomer. I cannot leave him alone. Can he come, PLEASE!?" I asked the parimedics. "Ugh...fine, load up the dog" One parimedic responded hesitantly. "WHEW!" I answed with releif in my voice. Then we zoomed of torwards the hospital.
