The idea about the pictures, I'm kind of indifferent about. Plus, Activeboard may not allow pictures on the front page. It's a cute idea, but unnecessary, and perhaps un-doable.

I think a music THREAD would be good! Not a whole board though. =P I have now hear more bands (Weeeee, fanx orca! ;D) and I like them! So a music thread would be very nice!
