-Together Through it All- Chapter 2 posted (CLOSED)

Chapter 1:

She breathed heavily, her snout high to the air. Asia's nose burned from the heat of the flames, but she was a Cattle dog, she could indure pain. Asia moved quickly, in search of Champagne, the large horse better known as Champ. She could barely smell, much better see or hear anything in the clattered, burning barn. The only sounds stronger than the sound of the flames was the crashing of items in the building and the shout of stablemen. Asia stopped, and concentrated. She remembered back to this morning when she had run into the stable, trying to figure out where on earth Champ's stable would be located by memory. The heat was getting unbearable. Asia had a good idea where the stable might be, but if she was wrong she would have to leave before she burned to death and hope that Champ was one of the few horses out of the thousands that had been saved in the little time. In a quick canter, she ran, ignoring the shouts of voices crying out her name. Asia stopped. This was it. She pushed the lever to open the stable and walked in. Asia barked in delight. She had found her beloved companion, Champ. Champ charged out, his nostrils burnt to a point where they bleed. Asia followed closely behind, so she wouldn't lose him again.

They had gotten out of the stable in time. The stablemen had gotten hold of Champ, and Jennifer, Asia's owner, had Asia on her leash. The last of the horses were rescued. They all stood and watched the gigantic barn crumble to pieces, the horses with it. Tears slipped down Jennifer's cheek, her Palamino, Chester, was not one of the lucky horses to be rescued. It all happened quickly after that. Family members stood together hand in hand, reminicing on the days their stable had been up and working; all the champions that had been born in that very barn. Jennifer had gone inside, but Asia ran back out to the pasture, the only place the horses could be kept that humid, hot night. She found Champ, and lay down near his hooves, and fell asleep.

Chapter 2:

Asia woke to the sound of hoofbeats. Her head lifted. Champ was nowhere in sight. Quickly, she jumped to her feet and looked around to actually observe what was going on. There were hundreds of trailors, and horse after horse were being loaded in. Before she could register the event, Jennifer called Asia over. She trotted over, Asia was eager to find Champ, but she was hungry and figured it was break-fast time.

They entered the house, and Asia was given her normal sheep steak. "I got her in father!" Jen called. "I still feel bad about it though.. Champ and her have always been together. I don't want her to have to lose him and all the other horses. Please dad, can't we atleast keep Champ?"
"No, he's far too valuable. We can sell him for a high price. And soon, we'll have the barn built up again, and brand new, fresh horses." Jen looked at her father miserably.
"B-but daddy.." Tears were coming down her cheeks. The shock had obviously sunk in and she realized how terrible last night had actually been. Jen ran out of the house. Asia looked up, she had finished her steak and was eager to find Champ. In a great leap he jumped through the swinging door right before it closed. In the distance she could hear Jen's father calling her name.

An hour had gone by. Asia had walked all 5oo acres of land in search of her companion. Her tongue lolled out lazily. She glanced over to her right. A large dark horse covered in soot was entering one of the trailors. It was Champ. Asia galloped over, Champ turned excitedly, the old man shouted angerly at Asia, when Jen's dad came running over.
"I'm soooo sorry sir, Asia here has always been attatched to Champ there. I'll get her outta yer way now, sir." And with that, he picked up Asia in a jerking motion and walked away. The trailor was closing. The lights flashed on to the truck, and they were starting to drive away. Asia bit. It was the only thing she could do to get free. She jumped out of Jen's father's arms and ran at her full speed after the trailor.

What felt like hours had passed, although it had only been minutes. Asia was exhausted, but she couldn't leave Champ. They had finally reached traffic. Asia could take a break. She noticed the grumpy man drivig the truck was talking to someone else. Asia knew what to do. She jumped up on the truck and trotted over to the trailor half. It had gone better than she thought it would, and he hadn't even noticed. Now her only problem was how well she could keep her balance. The truck started moving again, Asia felt her paws slipping..
