Requirements: Windows XP. [Pretty sure this is the only Windows that has WMM.] Windows Movie Maker. [Should already have it. If not, use Google.] Patience.
First open Windows Movie Maker, located in your Start menu. It should look like this:
If not, you may need a newer version of WMM. Now you're going to insert the title of whatever you're making.
Click that. This should appear:
You just finished your title. Simple, eh? Here's what it should look like.
That's where your title is - And that is also where your videos/images will go. How do you get them here? Go to your image/video file, and drag them into here:
Now it should look something like this:
Now drag your file down to the timeline:
It will now look like this.
You just added it to your video. Now add more. Do the same thing as you just did. Here's what I got:
You get the idea. But now - You may want to cut a few parts off, yes? Some un-needed things? Here's how you do it. Click "Show Timeline" down at the bottom.
Now to cut - Click the image/video you want to edit, then hover over the ends. An arrow should appear as your cursor. Highlight what you want to get rid of.
Now it's time to add music, if you want any. With images, there's no sound, so it's kinda needed - With videos there is sound, but some extra music might add a nice touch to it. You can either rip stuff from a CD to your computer and drag it into WMM [Like you did the video/images], or get some from the internet - vgmusic.com for example.
As you'd expect from me [] I'm not going to use anything fancy. To get it from the internet, you use this:
Click that. >=) Switch this to either "Wave Out Mix" or "Stereo" - They're pretty much the same, but for some reason I don't have "Stereo" anymore, and only have "Wave Out Mix"
Now start playing the music you found online. I'm gonna use something from OoT. Start it, then click "Start Narration". When it finishes, click stop.
If you did it that way, it should already be down here for you:
If not, you'll have to drag the file in there yourself like you did the video/images.
Now the fun part - Transitions. Click "Show Storyboard" down at the bottom.
See those rectangles next to the images/videos?
Click "View Video Transitions" then drag one of them into the rectangles.
These are small "effects" you'll see when the videos/images change into another, such as fading.
Now, the last part: Credits. Click "Make Titles or Credits" then click "Add credits at the end of the movie."
Now the real [] final part: Saving. Just click "Save to my computer" and direct to where you want to save it.
