well you could ask your neighbors if you could mow their lawn and walk there dogs make up a new recipe and sell the food to your neighbors you can also babysit I did when I was 9 just twice though.
if you are a good artist you can buy a paint set (a real one with oil pastels and a canvas with a stand to hold every thing up)and you can paint the picture and sell them to your neighbors one time I did that and I made 15.00 bucks!so try that and you might want to get a bank account to keep your money in.you can also( if you don't already )ask your parents if they can start getting an allowance my friend get 20 buck every weekend she has two thousand in her bank account .she is only ten.so maybe you can try all of this.

I'd suggest saving the cash you already have. If you get a weekly allowance, you can keep saving it until you have $1,000. ;)

I don't really have a suggestion that was already suggested, but why do you need 1,000? Is that for all the food, vet bills, etc, or is that for just the dog? If it's the latter, are you going for a purebred? You could probably find someone that's moving and can't bring their dog with them or someone whose dog had puppies and is willing to give them away for free. Check your local newspaper.

EDIT: I said former instead of latter. =P

No its not im planning on getting this cute dachshund guessing it is a purebred and about 2 months old($800). Plus i meant not ME getting all the money i actually meant my whole family. My mom sells stuff at a flea market and my dad works at a resteraunt as a bartender and gets only 200 a day(4:00 PM to 3:00 Am) so like my family bills are a lot and so do you think i'll ever get a dog??!!!

I think you're best to wait a few years.
I think 9 is too young to take care of a dog all on your own.

Wait 'till you're like 12-13.

IMO anyway.

Honestly, (NO OFFENSSE MEANT TO ANYONE) I can't see spending that much money on a dog, look for rescue's for the breed you want, they sometimes have puppies. And mostly they ask for a donation of $200, give or take some.
You can always adopt a dog, there is absolutly nothing wrong with most dogs at shelters. Bo was given up because ..well it's a long story, but it's NOT because there was anything wrong with him.
Shelter dogs at the most (I've seen) are $130.
But good luck, I can't think of any jobs for you to do at age 9..sorry. D:

As for being to young to own a dog, I don't know. I think you NEED to know what your doing, it also depends on the dog. I took care of my Bernse at age 9, and for years before that. :P It really just depends on how much you want it. Will you get a puppy and it will get boring? My sister's friend's family got a dog for Christmas. They take him out, EVERY half hour. Then after a month it was every hour. Now it's..every two hours? DO you have the time for a dog? There is sooo many things you have to take into consideration.
