I really don't know. XD With alot of reading online and maybe a few books and some practice with the Rebel, it should be a good camera for me, but then there's all of the lenses I'll need to buy. Plus, what would I take pics of? (I'd actually like some suggestions if you guys can think of anything. XD) I don't need a professional camera for taking pictures of dogs, that's just kind of stupid. I do live at a spot where we drive-by the ocean alot, but we rarely stop to take pictures. (It's kind of a everytimewegoshopping thing here.)
I do want the rebel but I'm not sure if it's the right camera for me. :p All of the example pictures and the 7-point autofocus make it very tempting. Oh, and er, I have $650 now so I can definitely afford it. Maybe a cheap lens too. But there's a few other things I'd like about equally as much as this and are around $300, so it's a hard choice. I'll need more feedback, if possible some reasons as to why or why not I should get it, because I can't convince or unconvince myself about it.

@ bold: Yep, maybe just ask to go to the ocean around sunset? There's probably some unusual sunsets. Here there is. Except CA is more like city, (or at least i think so XD) so maybe get like what my dad got a while ago, the bridge lights reflecting on the water. Maybe try that just with another bridge, I'm sure it'll light up. Also, taking pictures of dogs...doesn't really show you like photography. :P At first, I never really showed it until I was in a park and had a camera in my hands. XD
I kinda can't say my opinion of the rebel because my dad has a camera that's also the same thing, but not the rebel. :P He's got a Minolta with 49 mm lenses, 100-500 mm lenses, and one thats smaller than the 100-500 and bigger than the 49 mm, not sure what it is. XD

......what? So are you saying that everyone that only takes picture of their dogs doesn't like photography? There are such things as dog photographers.
I love taking pictures of my dogs, I prefer it over anything I take pictures of. Because dogs show so much expression, it makes the picture have 1000 words.
But anyways, eventually I want to be a dog photographer, and I probably will be one. I love photography, and just because I almost always take pictures of my dogs doesn't mean I don't like photography.

Never said that. I didn't KNOW there were things as dog photographers. It's an opinion, first of all. Which if I say my opinion again I'm sure all of NKC would be offended by it, but, it's an opinion. An opinion is not a fact. IMO taking pictures of your dogs is more enjoying the dogs then photography. I know there's dog photographers, but that's not the point, the point is that I'm not God and it's not a fact. And, I never SAID you didn't like photography, you're bringing yourself into this as if I said "IWN just takes pictures of her dogs therefore she only likes taking pictures of her dogs and doesnt like photography."
Ended. I'm sorry Psy, I just needed to say that it's an opinion. If she replies again, I won't reply or handle this in IMs on MSN. But anyways, good luck with the camera. ;P

It's fine, it wasn't a flame war and in a way it was on-topic. :p
