Chapter 5: How Puppy Stayed Overnight
Suddenly the pup collapsed on the floor. His back crushed on him, just how he died. He didn't feel pain, he just couldn't walk. He scooted across the floor using his arms and legs. Suddenly, his back was fine again, and he could walk. While Puppy just stayed there, confused, he heard Everest.
"I don't understand what happened. He just fell, now he's not getting up or talking," he said.
Puppy realized that to help Everest he'd have to fnd a way to tel him what happened. Puppy climbed up the cages, with his paws fastened in each hole of the cages. He stopped in his cage, and moved the door of it back and forth.
Everest couldn't see him, but he saw the door moving, and he put all his attention on it, confused.
"It's all right, Everest. I'm okay, now. I hurt my back, and it was apparently too fragile. I want to move on, but I'm not going to until I find that you're happy again," Puppy whispered into Everest's ear.
Everest heard him and nodded his head, but he was still crying and frightened.
"Don't cry Everest, you and I both know I can't stay forever, but until I have to move on, I'll stay here with you. I'll be right in my cage, don't worry."
So Puppy stayed there all night.

Chapter 6: Miracle

   Puppy awoke in a strange place, face to face with a bright figure.
"Who are you?" Puppy asked.
"You must go," the figure said in a female voice.
   "go where? Who are you?"
"I am a goddess. You must go back."
"Back where?" the puppy asked.
Suddenly he became dizzy. The room spun around him, and he awoke on a rainy night, huddling in his mother's fur. He looked at her and saw that her eyes were closed. He placed his paw on her.
"Mom!" he whimpered.
  She did not reply or even open her eyes. He licked her snout. it was cold. He rubbed his head against her stomach, but her body was still. Beside him lay some of his siblings. He tried to awake them, but they were as cold and still as his mother. he noticed tht a few of his siblings were gone, though, and he could not find them. He went back to trying to awake his mother with hopeless tears streaming down his furry cheeks.
The figue appeared a few feet away, appearing less bright because of the dark rain. Puppy closed his eyes and cried. Soon he was asleep. When he awoke again he was in a different place.
"You felt lost opening your eyes and seeing your mother lifeless, didn't you?" the figure asked.
Puppy did not reply, and instead hung his head, crying.
"That is why you must go back,"
"Go back where?"
Puppy suddenly collapsed and awoke a long time later in a room at the shelter. He was confused and didn't know where he was, but felt wonderful. a man walked in and Puppy jumped to his feet. The man looked surprised and called many other people in. They looked shocked and began chatting with each other for a moment.
"He's alive!"
"How?"
"We have video and picture of his breath measurements at 0 and back x-rays!!"

Finally, the people took the dog out to his cage by Everest. Everest and puppy were overjoyed.
"Wait, we can't put him in there, we have to call a news crew, he'll be a star, let's make a special room with toys and treats for him to stay in. Isn't that what you'd like, boy?" a man cried.
Puppy whimpered. He didn't want to be famous or pampered. He just wanted to be with his friends.
