Chapter 1: The Mix Most dog stories you read are about dogs on a journey, or getting adopted or trying to find someone nice to help them, but this story is different-it's about a dog living the life of a king. So, here it goes. The dog, who was a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, laid on his King sized bed in his large room. "What is taking that man so long! My snack time is promptly at 2:00 p.m. It's nearly 2:01!" the Corgi said to himself. Just as the clock hand turned to the one, a man came in carrying a plate covered under a silver top. The man took off the top and put the plate down in front of the corgi. It had a bone that was at least a foot long with crushed dog food sprinkled around the plate, with slices of steak placed along the side. The corgi nodded and carefully began eating his food. He quickly finished and went downstairs to be let outside. The servant who had brought him his "snack" opened up the door for him, and the corgi trotted out. He sniffed the fresh air in the huge yard, and smelled a beautiful bed of flowers. Suddenly, though, he heard a rustling. "Who's there? Better not be something awful, like a mixed breed!" the Corgi said, shuddering at the thought. A Toy Poodle/Papillon/Bichon Frise mix hopped out of a bush and began playing in a bed of flowers. "NO! NO! NOOO!" the Corgi shouted angrily. "Oh, I'm sorry, who are you?" the mix asked. "I only LIVE here! Get out of those flowers! Oh, you've crushed them!" the Corgi cried. "Sorry! My name's Muffy. What's yours?" The Corgi sighed. "I'm Corey. Nice to meet you. I'm a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. I've never sen your breed before, what are you?" "I'm a Toy Poodle/Papillon/Bichon Frise mix, I'm not a breed at all!" "Get out of the flower bed, you've ruined that patch of flowers! Mixes aren't welcome here, so leave." Corey said rudely. And that's just what Muffy did, with her head down.
Chapter Two
Corey mumbled some nasty words towards the mix as he examined his flowers. Sniffing them, he immediately pulled back. "Great, now there's MIX stench all over them!" He waltzed back into his doghouse mansion and went straight up to a greyhound wearing a patched-up uniform. "Um, you...whatever your name is, replace the flower beds outside of the castle." Corey demended rudley. "It's Gretta." The greyhound replied, annoyed. "I've been working for you for two months." "And this is Henry." Corey snapped, motioning towards a picture of a scruffy-looking lab. "He was fired three weeks ago due to his lack of following orders the first time they're SAID." Gretta took the hint and walked slowly out the door. Satisfied with his staff's operating, Corey dashed up teh stairs to his awaiting bubble bath a coc(k)er spaniel had set out for him earlier. Carefully dipping a paw in the water, Corey yelped. Seven different servants darted into the bathroom. "Your majesty, what's wrong?" a very pretty coc(k)er spaniel named Mimi asked. "Did you fill this bathtub with ice-frozen water?!" Corey yowled. Mimi looked at the floor. "Y-yes, sir." Corey bubbled with rage. But staring into Mimi's sparkling eyes, he just couldn't fire her, not her, not teh one he loved. "It-it's okay. I'm sorry I blew up like that." He immediately turned towards Kiki. "Did you watch her do this task?" "Why no, your honor-" Without a second thought, Corey bellowed, "Your FIRED." A look of tragedy washed over Kiki's face. Mimi burst into tears. After all, Kiki was her best friend. "You're the worst." she snapped at Corey as she escorted her pal to the door. Corey just stood there, lonely and hurt. Usually he'd fire somebody who made a such a cold remark. But the first time he laid eyes on Mimi, he fell in love. And he couldn't do it. But if he ever wanted a future with her, he'd have to get her to like him. And so far things weren't going well.
Chapter 3
Corey stayed there with his head down for a while, and it soon dawned on him that he'd have to try to make things better. So, he ran downstairs and he took Kiki to the side and said something to her. Kiki's face brightened and she nodded. Then Cory turned to Mimi.
"I'm truly sorry. I just couldn't control my anger and confusion, so I did something without thinking. You'll make another friend, here, don't worry. We'll have a dog staff meeting or something. First, would you like to have a small meeting with you first. Is that all right?" Corey politely explained.
"Face it, Corey. You're just spoiled rotten! you get everything you want. The only time you get in trouble is when your owners get upset with you. The other dogs and I shouldn't even be here, your owners would get upset. Plus, you boss us and the people servants around. Sure the people can't understand you, but you still growl at them threateningly! You're spoiled, and I'll never have a little 'meeting' with you. So go ahead, fire me if you want!" Mimi replied harshly. Corey hung his head down and shook his head. Keys began jingling in the door behind him, and Mimi ran out the back door and left. The door opened, and a man with short brown hair and a women with long curly brown hair came in. "We're back, everyone! Which one of you is closest to the door?" the man said. "Hello, there, sir! I was closest to the door," the man who brought Corey his snack said. "Well, why didn't you open it for me? You're fired, Sebastion!" the man said. Sebastion walked out the door, disappointed, and the man and women went outside and sat in some comfortable chairs. "COREY!" the women shrieked after a while. Corey ran outside. "What have you done to my flowers? Bad boy! I worked hard making the servants plant those! I am Jenna Court! I mustn't have bad flowers!" she yelled. Corey sank down sadly.
