I was taking moon pics last night, my first time trying to get good ones... The clouds were goin right by the moon and it looked cool, so I was trying to get that.
so heerz the theeng when I got pics with actual detail in the moon, the clouds were gone. When I got pics with the clouds in it, the moon looked like this:
I tried all the shutter speeds and F-Stops and yes I was using a tripid, none of them turned out like I wanted them to. So I just edited the above one, I cut out a actual detailed moon photo and put it over the bad one, did some smudging and blurring and viola:
Besides the clouds (which I didn't tamper with, they look different because it was a long exposure) does the moon look fake to you?
I showed it to several people without saying "ITS FAKE! LOOK FAKE?" and they didn't really notice. Except Lock, he noticed. :(
I wanna know what you really think about it... so tell me :(
I'll post the boring moon-without-clouds photos later.

I think it looks grainy, but I really like how there seems to be a circle of light. Maybe crop some composition into it (that sounds so weird. XD), and around the moon looks a bit odd too. The clouds aren't that sharp, probably because they moved while you had the shutter open so long.
Woah, I reeeally like that. And the not as sharp clouds, along with the moon, it gives it a reall cool...surreal (For lack of a better word) effect. It is kinda grainy, but you would have to look for the grain to see it, because I never noticed it, until I saw that NGal had pointed it out.
Overall, very nice job!

Wait, why are you reading my post? why am i posting? why am i asking myself questions? why am i so lame? why dont i just stfu?
woa I'm probably getting the D40 o_O My dad snooped my deviantart account and now he told me he wants to get me the Nikon for my birthday. yay. But not just the camera, a whole setup... I'll be getting (if I choose to get the D40):
- The camera itself with 18-55mm lens - extra battery - extra card ._. - card reader - cleaning kit - screen protector - tripod - A $30 VALUE, ABSOLUTELY FREE WITH PURCHASE! - several filters (polarizing, UV, possibly ND)
I still need to argue with Lock about it but the reason I'm getting it over the Rebel XT is that they're pretty much the same if you think about it, besides a couple megapixels, but the lenses for the D40 are cheaper.
I was going to get a computer upgrade for my desktop, but
1. The upgrade is gonna be $300 right now, and by Christmas I can get that. So just 4 extra months and I'll have it. 2. It's my birthday, it's my one chance to get something uberly expensive :0) Why get a $300 upgrade when I can get that on christmas? I can't get a camera for christmas, that's too expensive. (cheap christmas this year)
lock, we gotta argue when u get on msn k?
