Cool idea Psy..I should try making dog food. :D XD
But yeah, it's smart. My mom cooks meat just for the dogs (they don't eat their food without it, we spoiled them) but it's also very good for them, so yeah. XD
My dad won't let me give my dog any human food-- :| She could be HAPPY and would OBEY and learn TRICKS if she had meat, but no. Anyhoo, that's a good idea! :D I just hope my mom's willing to make the dog food.xD
I don't think changing the diet reflects THAT much on their personality. o_O I mean, if your giving them absolute crap they're going to get fat and lazy. But I doubt it will affect smartness. :O
But they do tricks if you give them meat ;) xDDD Yeah, I don't think my dog would come and sit for her food...She'd just walk away.xD
Doesn't have to be meat, any food that is good for them is a good snack. Maybe Summer is just picky? idk. XD I know Bo would do it for any food. XD
You have no clue :P She won't eat her food, her treats, and instead, eats CAT FOOD, HUMAN FOOD, or anything she can find on the floor. She HATES her food......The only time she eats it is if I pretend to eat it, and my spit get in it...eww (xD)
Anyway, she CAN do tricks without meat, but she won't do it again bc she knows I didn't give her meat the last time-- sassy little spoiled pooch.xD

That's nasty, and sad. :( They should use chicken, mice and other stuff cats and dogs would eat if they were in the wild.
...mice? o_O
For cats, I'm guessing. XD
At my homeschool group my one teacher wants to make cricket cat food. She said "Have you even seen a cat take down a cow? No. Crickets? YES! It's what they want, and you know it.", it was hilarious. XD So what sounds better, crickets or whatever crap is in your pets current food?
Noel thinks he's a big dog, a rabbit, a horse- because he runs so fast- and a human. He does all sorts of weird things, doesn't act much like a dog. It's funny too.
Jake (my dog obviously) eats all natural food. No color, no artificial flavor, just safe, healthy, fresh ingredients. It's great. Also there's no preservatives in it either.
Honestly one of the best dog foods you can get. xD It's more expensive, but it's definitely worth it.

Exactly. Spending a little more money is completely worth it. We feed our dogs Nutro, and Innova. Innova is a special food you can only get at certain small chain petshops, or online. It's great, and is what people use in the show ring. It's more expencive, but worth it. We fed Holly purina for like 2 weeks once, and it's still sitting under our sink. In that small amount of time, you could easliy tell a difference in her coat, which is a reflection of health. Nutro's a great food as well, we use it when we can't get out to get Innova, and it's all natural as far as I know. Reccomended by most reputable breeders. Easily found at Petsmart, PetCo, Co-Op, Tractor Supply, etc. Nutro's not even that expencive, either, and much better than the cheap wal-mart brands. (No offence at all to people who buy food at wal-mart, we have before as well.) If it was you, would you pay more for the quality? Most likely.

Took the words right out of my mouth. XD Agreed 100%, if you can pay an extra $20 for the quality why not? It's better in the long run, and you can definitely tell there's a difference.
I remember when Jake was on..Iams smart puppy I believe, and then we switched him over to this food he's on now, which is the all natural stuff, and seriously, it makes a difference. You have to see it to believe it really.

Because in the wild, they'd eat the guts of deer and brains of ducks.
They don't care what they eat as long as it isn't disgusting tasting.
Paying $20.00 for dog food is crazy to me, and if you want a dog to have good food, make it yourself or check the ingredients.
Would a dog care if it had "extra flavor" or "dental care"? I want my dog to have good teeth, but why not just brush them?
Dogs are dogs, not humans, and don't really care what they eat unless they're spoiled. Lots of people can't afford to even pay $5.00 for dog food.

I think of mine as my babies, and want them to have the best care/health possible. Yes they're animals but I'm not gonna buy cheap crap dog food just because it's inexpensive to me.
I notice a difference in Jake on that food. He's happy, playful, and he has no health issues what-so-ever, same with my girls who are on Iams.
I always check the ingredients to make sure "Chicken" or any other meat product is first on the list to assure that my pets are getting the nutrition they need instead of the crap that they shouldn't be getting.
It does make a difference, and they do care. I find when I give them other brands of food, they won't even touch it.
