The bluish-gray feathered bird came face to face with one of its own kind. They were both about 16 inches tall, but their way of flapping their wings at each other they were fighting. That was what they were doing now. One of the two penguins had strong muscles while when the other swiped its wings it was a bit more than a pat on the back to the other. The large one bent forward and opened his mouth to honk, "Go away!" at the smaller bird. It would have loved to, but couldn't back down in a challenge. These were Fairy penguins, the smallest penguins in the world. Two males were fighting at that moment. Finally, the smaller one was so scared he waddled to the water on the coast and swam off. He was swimming away from his rookery, though, which was a group of penguins that he lived in.
