and you rarely actually hear what they're hearing, normally it's just caught on the audio recorder or something. There's only been 1 time you could actually hear it, since 2006's live episode.

When I was watching, I seriously though that the voice was from a walkie-talkie or something.
That voice just sounds...creepy.

Yeah I immediately thought it was a recording, it just sounded weird. If it was a recording I don't think Jason and/or Grant did it but probably the SciFi crew (I'm sure it's not the first time they've done something like this).
heres some more clips of what happened, if anyone wants to review them again:



Grant's coat getting tugged... you can see it, if you look. It's especially visible the first and last time, the 2nd time you need to look really close. I recommend full-screen.



You can hear something knocking back.

I wish the camera was at a better angle though. I don't think Grant threw it, it'd just be better quality evidence if it was :p

but thats ok, cuz i like the one in the hat :)
