RE: iiiipod owners

I have a classic, which is nice because it's screen is big for movies. I've got it about half filled (it'sa 80GB). I got a refurbished one, only $200. Maybe you want to look into those too?
I haven't played around with the new nano's, but I don't like the third gen. one's. I like them a bit taller, not so sqaure. But hey, that's just me.

I like the first, second and fourth-gen's form factor better. To me, the 3rd gen was too squat and stumpy (I would know, my sister has one). The candy-bar form factor is just better and easier to hold, especially if you're going jogging or something.

And actually, they lowered the price since the 3rd gen. 8GB costs $149 instead of $199, so that's something to take into consideration. I'd recommend the 8GB, as MOST people don't have much more music than that.

Some good reasons to choose the 4th gen over the 3rd gen would be the backing. The aluminum backing on the 3rd gen (and even my first gen) can be scratched like crazy, so without a skin you'd need a baby it a little. Not to mention any price difference that there MIGHT'VE been in obtaining an older one would be whittled down by the $50 price drop.

Plus, the hold switch is on the top now. Having it on the bottom felt kinda dumb to me (especially when trying to flick it while it's charging).

Don't forget how much livelier the colors are now!

Nice points Lock! Very helpful! And thanks alot everyone!

Okie dokie, wellll I'm pretty positive that I'm getting the 4th gen. I've been researching on it and whatnot, and it impresses me. I plan on getting the red one. And according to the the Apple site, Apple contributes a portion of my purchase to the Global Fund to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa if I buy the red one. Which, I'd say, is a pretty good thing.

Thanks again :D
